On December 3rd, we will be migrating your email service to a new platform called MagicMail. This change is part of our ongoing efforts to ensure reliable service and provide additional features for improved email security and control. For webmail users, you will need to back up your contacts and calendars separately (see steps 3, 4 and 5).

Steps you might find useful with magic mail are listed below:

  1. Unified Spam Protection and Filtering
    With MagicMail, managing your spam settings is simplified. Instead of a separate login, everything can be managed within the webmail interface at https://webmail.swat.coop. After logging in, navigate to Settings > Spam to adjust your spam preferences. Messages identified as spam will be placed in the Spam folder, which you can access directly from your webmail.
  2. Webmail Access and Account Management
    After the transition, you can access your webmail and manage account settings at https://webmail.swat.coop. The new interface allows you to set auto-replies, configure email forwarding, and adjust spam settings. If you have custom forwarding rules currently, you will need to reconfigure them after the migration.

  5. Exporting Contacts from Zimbra
    To save your contacts from Zimbra, follow these steps:

    • Go to the Preferences tab in Zimbra, and select Import/Export from the left menu.
    • In the Export section, choose Contacts under Type.
    • For Source, select the Contacts folder you want to export, and click OK to confirm.
    • Click Export to download your contacts file in CSV format. This file can later be imported into MagicMail.
  6. Exporting Calendar from Zimbra
    If you use the calendar in Zimbra, you can export it by:

    • Going to Preferences > Import/Export in Zimbra.
    • Selecting Calendar under Type in the Export section.
    • Choosing your calendar folder under Source and clicking OK to confirm.
    • Clicking Export to download your calendar file.
  7. Importing Contacts into MagicMail
    After exporting your contacts from Zimbra, you can import them into the new MagicMail platform:

    • Log in to https://webmail.swat.coop and navigate to the Contacts section.
    • Click Import at the top. In the pop-up window, select Choose File to locate your exported contacts file (e.g., Contacts.csv).
    • If desired, select an Import group assignment or leave it as "None". You can also check Replace the entire address book if you want to overwrite all contacts.
    • Click Import to complete the process, and ensure that fields like First NameLast Name, etc., are mapped correctly.
  8. Access to the Old Platform
    To ensure a smooth transition, the Zimbra server will remain accessible for a limited time after the migration. This will allow you to retrieve any information not automatically carried over, such as custom calendar entries or contacts.
